About
This site is maintained and produced by none other than me, Jeremy Gibbs. It is my personal site and the views expressed here are solely my own and not those of the University of OKlahoma, The School of Meteorology, or sock monkeys.
I am currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Meteorology, where I also received a B.S. in 2006 and an M.S. in 2008. I am mainly interested in numerical techniques to represent atmospheric surface/boundary layer processes. I generally concern myself with mesoscale numerical weather prediction (NWP) models, along with large eddy simulation (LES) code. I have been blessed that my research has afforded me the opportunity to travel to The Netherlands, Germany, Taiwan, and soon France. I am supervised by Dr. Evgeni Fedorovich, an international boundary layer meteorology expert. While it may be construed as ass-kissing, I consider it a true privilege to have my career molded by Dr. Fedorovich. For more information about my professional interests, please see my research page.
In my personal time, I enjoy golf, learning the guitar (even though I am a musical idiot), video games, programming (especially for the iPhone and web development). Most of all, my true passion lies with Apple products. All of my research is done on a 2009 Mac Pro, with 8×2.93GHz Intel Xeon processors, 16GB RAM, and a 2TB hardware raid. I personally own a 1G iPod nano, 2G iPod shuffle, 40GB Apple TV, late 2008 unibody MacBook, and an iPhone 3GS (soon will be the 64GB 3G iPad). Accordingly, I will post a decent amount of material covering Apple products and operating systems. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
I will also try to post my thoughts on current events.
I encourage user feedback, so please sign up for a free account to post your thoughts. I generally respond in no time.
